What is World Refugee Day?<\/h3><\/div>
World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to shine a light on the rights, need, and dreams of refugees, helping to engage communities and mobilize political will and resources so refugees can not only survive but also thrive.<\/div>

The day serves as an opportunity to honor the courage, resilience, and contributions of refugees, as well as to highlight the challenges they face in rebuilding their lives. It also aims to promote public understanding of the reasons why people become refugees and to advocate for the rights and protection of refugees.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

This event will help focus community attention on the contributions of refugees in the Shenandoah Valley, and there will be opportunities to support refugees.  <\/p><\/div>

CWS Harrisonburg and Virginia's Immigrant Voices will celebrate World Refugee Day with music, cultural activities, food, storytelling, henna, facepainting, kids activities, and more at Turner Pavilion Downtown during the Best. Weekend. Ever!<\/div>
